  • Kilwinning Circular

Great walk Jim on Saturday, Irvine to Kilwinning. It was pretty hot! Lovely trails around Eglinton Country Park.

  • Alloway, a beautiful walk through Burns country

A great walk from the Robert Burns Museum which went through the memorial gardens and across the Brig o’ Doon, made famous by Burns in the tale of Tam O Shanter. Following the Blue Bonnet trails we headed down to the Ayrshire coast path and lunch! Returning we stopped to look at the Auld Kirk…

  • Cardross to Balloch

What a day yesterday! Train cancelled from Queen Street, then a group didn’t manage to alight at Cardross, they arrived at Craigendon and had to get a train back to Cardross. However all was well in the end and we had a lovely walk to Balloch with beautiful weather and glorious views.

  • Johnstone to Kilbarchan & Dampton Pad via cycle track, wood and fields

Colouring up the day! These oversized coloured pencils couldn’t be missed on cycle route 7, just outside Johnstone. Refreshments at the end of the walk were in a local pub called Habbies bar, the name given to people born in the village.

  • Westerton to Bearsden via Maryhill locks and Cairnhill Woods

A varied walk with canal, riverside and woodland paths. Birds seen along the canal included, herons, goosanders, coots and swans. Plenty of local history at Maryhill Locks, thanks to all contributors. Sadly no ring necked parakeets were spotted in Dawsholm Park. Lots of chat and laughter and cracking coffee and cake at Leo’s.
