About
Founded in 1902, the Glasgow Health Culture Rambling Club has been welcoming adult ramblers and exploring the spectacular scenery our area has to offer for over a century.
We’re a welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic group, our rambles are very sociable with lots of chat and laughter. There’s a wide range of ages, backgrounds and experiences within the club and we welcome new members.
We are fortunate to be based in the Greater Glasgow area, surrounded by wonderful countryside with a huge variety of contrasting routes and landscapes suitable for a wide range of abilities.
Club members meet every Saturday throughout the year and usually travel by public transport to and from a ramble. Our routes range from the easier 6 miles, often on woodland trails or river paths to 8 miles or more on rougher hills. Often, we end with a wee refreshment and a blether.
As well as the Saturday rambles we run two private hire “Express Coaches” during the summer which take us further afield. The clifftop walk at Portpatrick was a stunning day out and the area around Pitlochry gave us a wide choice of interesting walks.
We don’t just walk, we have social events too; we organise group holidays, theatre visits, outings and who could forget Christmas lunch!
Keep yourself alert and active by becoming a member, experience the adventure of exploring new places, create memories and friendships, come out and about with us in the open spaces of the borderlands of Glasgow.
